SUN!

Today, Jack came home from school to an empty house. He made a batch of cookie dough, cleaned it up and stuck it in the fridge, brewed himself a cup of tea, and curled up in his room to do his math homework. Basically, he lived my perfect afternoon.

Meanwhile, I headed from tennis to softball to collect some more of the children and bring them home for late, crabby dinner, etc. Why are all kid activities at night? Especially over the dinner hour? Seriously, Dorothy had a softball scrimmage from 5-6:30. GAH.

Tennis! So fun to watch.

The big glowing yellow ball is back in the sky, and that? Has made aaaaaall the difference.

  1. We had SUCH a dark, dreary, rainy April. (I guess it is April, but still...).
Today is more of the same but next week EVERY SINGLE DAY there is a sun icon and it makes such a difference to my mood, to the ease of getting kids places. Everything. We also have a lot of windows in our house and it get so warm and cozy on sunny days (which is important since I run cold).

Substitute math homework for a good book and that IS my idea of a perfect afternoon. Also, the fact he brewed himself a cup of tea speaks volumes about him; I could not love that little detail more if I tried.
