November: What I Read

I wasted way too much time on the Internet this month, and I did too much work.  As a result, not a lot of reading going on.  But!  I have a cabinet full of books, and I scored Lena Dunham's memoir for $2 in the library rental section today, so December is promising.

My math has been spotty because Good Reads is glitchy, but I just went back and added up all my months and I *think* I have read 92 books so far this year, meaning I need to read a big 8 this month.  I will try.  We have a super secret Hanukkah surprise and some end of semester grading that could get in the way, so cross your fingers for me.

Ok.  NOVEMBER.

4.  One Plus One by JoJo Moyes:  This was a really predictable and sappy romance.  I heard really great things about this book and put it on hold at the library based on these great reviews and its inclusion on best lists, but now I just think this book had really good PR.
3.  Friendship by Emily Gould:  This was quirky and well-plotted and had killer dialog.  I loved the characters and the sad ending.  A good read-- breezy and fun.
2.  The Boy Who Drew Monsters by Keith Donohue:  OH M GOD this book scared the hell out of me.  I ended up staying up really late to finish it and then had to leave the light on.
1.  Women in Clothes by Sheila Heti:  Oh, wow.  This book is beautiful to read and lovely to look at-- a great, thoughtful read.
