Ugh

 Ugh, you guys.

Yesterday, I tried on a pair of shorts at Target in my usual size, and they DID NOT FIT AT ALL.

And then I was like well I don't want to be the size I apparently am AND ALSO have gray hair, so I bought a box of Madison Reed hair dye AND MY HAIR IS STILL GRAY. Like, IT WOULD NOT TURN BROWN.

Universe, what are you telling me?

I have been working so much this weeeeeeek. Everywhere I go, past work hours, etc etc etc.

I worked DOWNSTAIRS for a change of pace

I worked at extra curriculars

I worked at the orthodontist

I worked at diving practice

I worked in my office.
SO MUCH WORKING.

In apocalyptic climate changes news, my city set a record for biggest temperature change in 24 hours, with a 59-degree shift on Tuesday. But! When we were on the upswing part, the girls and I played outside.

Minnie is still crafting her cute little face off

Another taco Tuesday has come and gone

Look at this sign Dorothy made-- the warning slays me

Let me leave you with Minnie on our pick-up drop off loop two days in a row:

  1. I WANT TO BE MINNIE. The clothes. The naps. The art projects.

Speaking of clothes, I want all of your outfits. Especially that black and white skirt. It is ah-mazing <3

  2. "You must be awesome here" is now my life mantra.
Yes but that bold lip! Your lipstick is really on point here. It suits you so well. But I have to say - what the what about the hair dye. I can't speak to that brand but I've never heard of such a thing.
And about the shorts, well. I just mentioned on my blog today that my waistline is disappearing. I believe this is a menopause thing and honestly, every single woman I have ever seen past a certain age has a thicker waist, it's just a part of life, and now, apparently, it's MY part of life. I'm trying to embrace the season, you know, but I am having a pretty big mental hurdle about it. I am turning into a rectangle, Sarah!

  3. Sarah--I LOVE the way you've put together the leopard print ensemble! It's *genius* to team two slightly different versions like that... I'll be trying it, for sure. All your selfies are awesome--the red lip in your office is impressive and the one of you downstairs is super adorable!

  4. You are the cutest - love your flair for fashion and the drama of the red lip! I don't think I've even put on mascara this week.

Look at that sweet cherub face in slumber!

You must be awesome here. Dorothy gets it.

I was eyeing Madison Reed hair color recently at my ULTA wondering if Madison Reed was in fact over twice as better than my standby Ms Clairol. I did not spring for it, was happy with my usual results, and now feel down right thrifty. In my experience Nice‘n Easy has indeed been both of those things and any lack of coverage has been user error.

That said you look great and I also give props on the great lip!

    1. THIS WAS MADISON REED! I have used it before and it is really great because it's gentle (which is probably the problem) and does not give a flat, all-one-color coverage. But! That means it's hard to get those resistant grays.

  6. Gah, I love your style so much!

I have to say, it is SO WEIRD to see your kids playing outside IN SHORT SLEEVES in February. Like, I'm glad for you guys to have a mild winter but CLIMATE CHANGE IS HERE!

  7. I mean, clothing sizes are meaningless, particularly for women, but that hair dye, we should march, what the heck.
I feel like your family broadcasts the awesome everywhere, but I guess Dorothy felt the need to spell it out.

  8. Dorothy's warning . . . what a hoot. Sweet Minnie. I love pics of my guys snoozing in car seats. Ah, simpler times.

Who knows with sizes anymore. The hair color issue baffles me, but I do not color my hair so I cannot offer any suggestions. I pretend my gray is blond highlights. I am fooling no one.

You always look hip and cute. It's a gift that I am not lucky enough to have.

This is Lisa. Wow Minnie is so zonked out!!

I would struggle with the disjointed work sessions! It’s hard to stay focused when you are working in little snippets!

  10. Minnie is living her best life (when she's not sick, poor girl).

I call BS on the hair dye. Get your money back. Also, keep in mind that sizes are not standardized in this country - I wear everything between an XS and a L. Ridiculous.

  11. You must be awesome! Good thing you are.

I once was coloring my hair, and then got a work call (I work at home) and ended up on the phone for almost 2x the amount of time the color was supposed to be on my hair, and it GOT THOSE GREYS. Maybe try leaving it in for 10 more minutes and see if that does it.

I used to have such a tiny waist. Sigh. Now I wonder, even if I weighed what I used to, would it ever get that small again? Answer: No. I am now a meatloaf. Insulting for sure.

One thing regarding sizes, a while ago I went into the changing room wearing size X of brand Y style Z jeans, and tried on another pair of size X brand Y style Z jeans, and couldn't even pull them up. Sizing is insane, and very inconsistent even within a brand/style.

  12. Dorothy is a force of nature, women's clothing sizes make no sense, and I hear you on the mid-semester deluge. (Weren't you also taking on another class???) Hang in there.
