Case of the Mondays

I actually have nothing super specific to complain about. Well, I mean, my hormones are a dumpster fire, so there’s that. Thanksgiving is THIS WEEK, and I am far less prepared than usual.

I was kind of annoyed that this dress is too tight, but then I realized it is older and 4 of my kids, so whatevs.

Minnie and I are having so much fun on our afternoons at home, and darned if I don’t LOVE being able to work EVERY SINGLE DAY and also having dedicated home time. Compartmentalization for the win!

But also! I have a speech contest to organize! 100 exams to grade! A HUGE DINNER TO PREP! And almost no childcare all week. LOVE THAT FOR ME. YOU GUYS. ALSO WHY DID I GET MY PERIOD THIS WEEK? PERIMENOPAUSE CAN FUCK RIGHT OFF.

But other than that, things are FINE.

How are you?

  1. You know, it would help if we got an actual Thanksgiving break. (Insert eye roll emoji...)
Hang in there. I feel you. And - other than the hormones and, you know, the kids - I posted the same sentiment today...

    1. I really think the faculty senate should re-evaluate the number of fall instructional days because it is really hard to hold class Tuesday/Wednesday this weel

  2. Move to Canada? We have Thanksgiving in October.

Whatever Minnie is baking - brownies? Cake? Looks delicious.

Love that dress. And hope there are lots of really great moments sprinkled in and around the chaos <3

  5. Every time I buy tampons, I think it will be the last time. It has never been the last time. *sigh*

  6. Ugh, I was thinking you had sailed into menopause unscathed but it sounds like that is not the case. I am debating getting an IUD because some months I bleed for 10 days and this would solve that problem but it's such a pain to get an IUD and deal w/ the insertion.

  7. I am sometimes amazed at how old my clothing is. Like, how is this that old?

I'm older than you and I'm happy to report that I've moved on from period and IT IS AWESOME. I almost forget that some people still deal with that. :) Don't hate me.

Good luck with everything. Sounds like a lot.

  9. I have clothes older than my 27 year old daughter. I mean, they don't FIT me or anything. I need to clean out my closet, clearly. Good luck this week!

  10. Is that a Anthro jumpsuit? It looks amazing on you.

You've got this (classes, competitions, sports, Thanksgiving, period, and all). Sending good wishes that it all works out great just in case!

  12. Isn't that great reason to realize the dress might be a bit tighter. It does look good on you. And tose afternoons with Minnie seem fun – even though it can get messy.
