I am SO CLOSE to reading 122 actual books (not audio books). I need to knock out 2 more, and I have 3 BOTMs and some great library holds, so CROSS YOUR FINGERS. I had some excellent reads this month-- not always great literature, but usually a great time.

Under Currents by Nora Roberts: Total soap opera, and I loved every word-- a great back drop to random housework. **Audio
It's not Summer Without You and We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han: I am hooked on this trilogy, and Dorothy and I have started watching The Summer I Turned Pretty together. **Audio

Livid by Patricia Cornwell: WHY can't Kay just be a sleuthing medical examiner again? The past 4 or 5 Scarpetta books have had really weird plots featuring people from Kay's past that we just now meet but who were really important figures in her life but have never popped up in 20 books. It is a really weird way to introduce side characters. Not a huge fan. But also, Kay Scarpetta forever, you know? **2022 **Audio
The Winners by Fredrik Backman: This took me FOREVER to read, which make sense because it's HUGE. But I also just could not get all the way into it, even though I am in the middle of hockey season, an I loved the other 2 in the series.**2022

Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn: I LOVED THIS BOOK. I read actual literature this month, and this book won my heart. You should read it and then think about how sexist and stupid it is that there's not a movie in the works. **2022

There are no words! You are a reading machine! According to Goodreads, I'm at 72 for the year...and I'm ready for a break so will likely only read a handful more before the end of the year!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm sad about the Backman! Maybe I'll have to dive in during January when the new year reading energy is strong!? I enjoyed the first two in that series (probably the 2nd more than the first actually) and I feel compelled to see the trilogy through.
ReplyDelete122 is MONSTROUS. I am aiming for 60 next year and that's probably even a stretch. What do you think your reading speed is? (Mine is probably . . .. moderate? I do many things quickly but reading I think I'm maybe just slightly above average . . .)
I read 120 books last year, I think. This year I will read 100 which is still pretty good. I was nursing/pumping last year so I think that's why I read way more books - especially during my maternity leave. But 100 is still great for me!
ReplyDeleteI did not like the 2nd book in the Bachman series so won't read the 3rd. I have heard mixed reviews about it and wow it is a chunker!
My best book of November was probably "Wrong Time Wrong Place."
This was fun -- I love to see what people are reading. :-) I need to post my November books... but I just posted my October ones a couple of days ago so it seems too fast.

And Killers of a Certain Age looks so good! I have it on my list for gifts for my parents this year but clearly I need to read it myself!
