I feel so relaxed— how long could this possibly last?

We had lovely, boring weekend with kid activities and lots of nothing to do, too. Oh, what’s that? You want to see pictures of this total slice of mundanity? You betcha.

She was showing off her ridiculous unicorn crocs here, but I like the dress/tights combo. The tights have foxes on the knees, and I am here for them

That feeling when if you want to have leftover pot pie, you gotta make 3 hashtag big family.

Coop went to his first dive meet of the season and got 2nd in 3M springboard and won 1m and platform with PRs.

I HAD to get a pedicure (BEAK FEET). Minnie did not have school for teacher professional develpment. Sooooo, that happened.

Cleaning and killing time

And! A triumphant return to swim lessons after being sick for weeks and weeks!

Yay!

She got out 3 times to pee, and it’s a 30-minute class. LOL LOL LOL.

Ok— that’s all I got.

My huge goal for this week is to figure out the rhythms of my asynch online students and also drink more water. You?

  1. You all deserved this quiet, contenting, and healthy weekend! Minnie's relaxed pose in the pedicure chair says it all.

    1. that picture cracks me up-- it's tough to be a 3 year-old, apparently.

  2. Drinking water is hard in the winter! You need it, but it doesn't feel like it. Great goal.

My goals is to survive. Seems easy enough!

  3. Hold the phone - is that jump house thing in your family room? I am imagining the chaos and bumped heads that would happen with my daycare gang, but I still want one. is that wrong?

Our weekend was fairly mild too. I can't say that I did a ton of cleaning, but kid chores were mostly accomplished and I might've broken a record in the number of laundry loads I did. Sheets were changed too. Coach did groceries since I braved Costco on the coldest say of the year. Did I feel guilty since groceries take him 10x longer than me? Yep, but I got over it. I also finished writing a chapter and I submitted something to an online magazine. I don't expect it to be accepted but I gotta get back in the swing of tuning out the world/sending them away when they interrupt me and do what I wanna do sometimes.

Plus I slept over 8 hours multiple times last week. 2024 is starting out strong. Sorry for the longest comment in the history of everything.

  4. Those dives are amazing! Cooper is so talented! But that also looks terrifying!

It's hard to imagine that you are ever able to use the word "relaxed" with everything you have going on!! But I am glad you achieved that kind of feeling!!

  5. Oh, Minnie with her pudgy little feet and hands! Sounds like a lovely weekend- but what you call "relaxed" I would call "extremely busy." I guess it all depends on your point of view!
    Congrats to Cooper!

  6. WOW on the dives, so amazing. A pedicure sounds like heaven right now, but I am FAR too cheap to pay for one in winter. Foolish, I know, because it would feel SO GOOD. Maybe I'll change my stance on this, and consider you my inspiration.

We had a very low key lazy weekend. I think I slept almost 10 hours one night. It was HEAVEN.

  8. Ughhhh, Minnie's little toddler fingers and toes are killing me. So cute!

Pre-cut onions are an autobuy for me these days. Nobody has time for cutting up onions!
