5 on a Friday: Delights (12/52)

 1. Harry! Got academic and speech team scholarships at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and he’s going to go there!!! We are SO EXCITED!! It is a PERFECT CAMPUS for him, and we all loved it when we visited over the summer. BRING ON THE MERCH.

2. I got pro pics from Dorothy’s dances and LOL for days. Ben described her as facially aggressive, and that is 100.

3. I had acupuncture AND massage and am scheduled for one or the other every other week going forward and PHEW! I can turn my head to the right with no pain for the first time in… checks notes… months.

4. Min Min has a SNOW DAY, so we are all having a relaxed morning. (Pics from her TLG skill celebration mixed in with pro dance pics below— SO CUTE— even though I had to buy socks from the front desk and abandon my grading since parents got to go in the gym to play for the celebration. I was caught unaware, but jack (who went to class the previous week because he had the day off and is the sweetest) was like oh yeah I heard the teacher say that didn’t you— LOL no)

5. My TBR pile is AMAZING right now, and I plan to grade and read and bake all day.

  1. Oh my gosh, that's fabulous news about Harry! And yay for UW-EC. I have not been to EC, and it is on my list for "when I dig out of this hole if that ever happens, sigh". The distance is great, too - I went to school 2ish hours from my parents' house, and they could get there easily but they couldn't show up unexpectedly. Hope you have an amazing grading-reading-baking day and weekend.

  2. Those photos of Dorothy are fantastic!!!
Yay for Harry, ALL THE MERCH FORTHCOMING!
I don't think I knew you were having so many problems with your neck! Gosh, that sounds dreadful. Glad it's resolved.

  3. What great kids! Congrats to Harry and Minnie and Dorothy... and Jack for being the sweetest. I'm glad you have scheduled self-care going forward and are pain-free now. Have a cozy weekend!

  4. Yay for UW-EC!! They're going to get a great freshperson.

For years I had neck pain and couldn't move my head, particularly to the left, which was dangerous when I was driving. A combo of yoga and a new pillow changed it, so I'm curious how other people handle things like this!

  5. Aww. That's so exciting to have a school all lined up. Both exciting...and relieving!

  6. Congrats on the college decision! How exciting! I've heard great things about EC! I've never been but have driven by sooo many times back when I used to drive to Chicago with my parents to visit my brother (which I will probably never do again because flying is just so much easier for me/I hate road trips).

Can't wait to hear what you are reading. My reading has been a bit meh so far in 2024...

  7. Yay Harry! Yay Dorothy! Yay neck (I myself can still not turn my head to the right without pain yet, but we're working on it). Yay reading and baking and grading!

  8. Hooray!!! What a relief to have a college decision (now you only have to do it four more times, ha ha.) How close is UW-EC from you?
Hope you enjoyed your grading/reading/baking day. I'm envious!

The pics are great. I laughed at Jack not realizing that you didn’t have all the info. Oops. Hooray for a college decision. That’s huge. I bet the whole fam will be excited for the merch. So cute. I didn’t know your neck was messed up - I happen to live with the world’s best PT. Too bad you didn’t live closer. He’d have you fixed in a jif.
