Summer's last gasp

We are enjoying every last minute of summer AND ALSO I am looking ahead to warmer colder weather, and thinking of how we can make this fall extra cozy.

First of all, I think we need to go to more supper clubs.  The dim lights!  The flickering candles!  What could be cozier?

The kids spent the whole dinner staring out the window at the wolf decoy meant to to keep geese off the dock and debating of it was real or not.  FINALLY after dinner, we went outside so they could check.
NOT REAL.  LIKE WE TOLD THEM 64 TIMES FROM BREAD BASKET TO PULL TAB LOTTO TICKETS TO CHEESE CURDS TO STEAK
We have been having a lot of s'mores, and I think that translates into a cozy fall, but we'll need to swap the suits for sweaters.  (and wouldn't you know it, the one back-to-school season that I barely bought any clothes, it's going to be COLD in like a week).
Nothing is cozier than a book in the sun.  Maybe I need to buy a clearance chaise for my deck and give this a try at home.
Dorothy is already wearing winter jammies, and she a lounging pro.  Check and check.
POOL NIGHTS!  I will miss them for a solid year.
Ben and I are doing a Whole30 starting TOMORROW, so I am so glad I could snag a pumpkin spice latte before it starts.
Instead of fall baseball this year, we signed Harry and Jack up to be buddies for challenger league players, and we had their first game Saturday-- thumbs up all around.
 Also Dorothy discovered Frappuccinos
She asked me to carry her to the car.  I responded in a very dad way.
HOW DID I WALK AWAY FROM TJ MAXX WITHOUT THESE $9 BETSY JOHNSON SUNNIES??
All dressed up for family fate night
 Oh, boys.
 She made a curd-bob
 Subtle, Elks Lodge.  Very subtle.
This place is my new favorite.

Look at how cozy they are!  MY PLAN IS WORKING!
