6 on a Saturday: Top Moments of 44

I think I figured out my problem, you guys! Minnie has stopped breastfeeding, and I think my hormones are a MESS. Just realizing this makes me feel so much better. It also explains the recent weight gain (not that I weigh myself, but my clothes are feeling yucky). I am going to miss the breastfeeding calorie burn, that’s for sure.

(Minnie has also stopped napping, but that’s another story for another day.)

44 has been an excellent year. Everyone is healthy. No major disruptions. The usual ups and downs, but even that feels lucky. Here are my favorite moments from 44:

1. Harry as a lifeguard— everything about that was adorable.

2. HALLOWEEN. I love Halloween anyway, but this year saw MATCHING WITCHES.

3. Dorothy’s dance recital- always a fave
4. DISNEY WORLD.
5. Family ice skating night
6. Hilton Head, finally.

  2. Yes, it definitely sounds hormonal (just read the previous post to see what's going on.) I hope things even out soon and you start to feel better, AND you have a birthday to celebrate! Oh, and i love the matching witches from Halloween... too cute!!!

  5. RAISING HAND to also disaster after stopping breastfeeding. I had such bad PMDD I ended up back on the pill (and am still on it despite advancing age). Those months post-wean were BRUTAL!

  6. Ugh. Hormones are the worst. (And dropping naps is NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART). Good luck with all of it my friend.

    And what fun photos/memories <3

  7. Happy birthday! I love looking back on the past year and see how many wonderful things we did as a family and me alone.
Hope the hormones regulate soon. In march I was feeling flat as a pancake but now I feel better.

  8. Oh yes, 100% from stopping breastfeeding! That can really throw a person off. The 2 times I stopped pumping/breastfeeding was due to getting horrible stomach bugs and I just decided to be done. So I think I was too physically ill to notice any other side effects! I didn't really notice the calorie benefits of breastfeeding, though. I know some women who dropped weight so easily when pumping or breastfeeding. That was not the case for me. I joked that I made skim milk, though, as my babies were never chubby!

Those are some wonderful moments from the past year, though!

  9. Ah, that makes a lot of sense re: breastfeeding (not that I would know anything about it LOL)

Glad to hear it was a good 44th year!

  10. Oh, I am really glad you pinpointed what is causing your funk! That would do it!! Hopefully, you'll be able to move forward now with that knowledge. :)

What a beautiful year you had! Here's to another great one!

  11. WHY with the hormones? They're so annoying - yet so necessary. I hope that knowing what caused the funk helped. :) And you had a wonderful year... love looking at all the smiles in those pictures.
