Thanks for your comments on my snow day rant— I loved the whole conversation.

Minnie cannot go to Target without falling in love with a puffy dress and wearing it with mismatched leggings and gym socks. NEVER CHANGE, MINNIE.

Above is what real Sconnies wear outside to shovel snow, and below, please find Minnie checking under Cooper’s bed for monsters with his reading light, something she does every single day.
I found a roll of washi tape and a stack of old pictures while tidying my office today, and now every surface has a row of impossibly tiny kid faces taped to it.

After reading Nicole’s wonderful favorite things post, I bought this eye serum, and it is changing my life. No more Preparation H under my eyes, that’s for sure.
Also! My daily moisturizer is no longer available on Amazon or at Target (has it been discontinued?? No, don’t tell me), so I switched to ROC. Will I hate it? Stay tuned.
IS THAT TOOTHPASTE IN THE FOREGROUND? I think so. I blame Ben. Forget separate beds and bring on separate bathrooms.

It’s the sliver of tummy for me.

I mean. What do YOU wear to the grocery store?

I put paper on the table to keep Minnie busy while I cleaned up dinner, and then Jack used the space for algebra, and it was adorable

I am probably in a meeting or at baby swim class while you read this. LIVING THE DREAM, my friends.

  1. Omigosh, I do the same thing with kids' pictures in the office--it's beginning to look like a giant collage in there. SO many terrific pictures: twinning Dorothy and Minnie, Jack's algebra, toddler smile and tummy... Truly delightful.

    1. I had some cherished drawings that my toddler daughter created, attached to a file cabinet that was in my cubicle. Then the file cabinet was moved one day after hours, without consulting me, and my pictures were thrown away. It was heartbreaking.

    2. Giant collage is my aesthetic too. Oj J that's terrible-- a similar thing happened to me when my building flooded, and I still miss the stuff.

  2. I have zero pictures in my cubical at work. I ordered prints from our fall photo session but have yet to put them in frames and bring them to work. My cube has zero personality. But among my coworkers, we joke about not wanting to have so much stuff to pack if you get laid off. My industry is known for layoffs. I actually joked about this with my boss several years ago - and then he got let go on his way back to Chicago. He found out via phone in the backseat of an uber! I really don't feel like my job is at all at risk so I should bring more personal effects to work, though...

    1. My husband has nothing at work for this reason, and his job is pretty safe. His coworkers tease him about his office and how he could bring in a picture or a plant or something. Me, before I worked from home, I had so much pretty stuff and pictures of my daughter and so on. It meant a lot to me to have my surroundings personalized. Luckily I never got one of those 'you're done immediately' layoffs while in the office, so I didn't have to deal with it. When you're at home and that happens, you don't really have to move much.

    2. Ben left a job abruptly when the big kids were tiny, and the clean out was a huge bummer. I would sort of like to move offices or do a furniture upgrade, but over a decade of junk in there gives me major pause.

  3. Minnie just always seems so delighted with her life. I hope she never finds monsters under the bed!

    1. Too many Disney movies-- MOnsters Inc has her convinced. But really she could find much worse things than monsters poking around her brother's room I am sure. Gross!

  8. The checking under the bed for monsters WITH A DESK LAMP? Adorable. I'm impressed you already got the Ordinary Serum while you have so many kids and a grown-up job and everything, while it's still 'on my list'. I'd heard about the hemorrhoid cream, it really works? On eyes?
