ReplyDeleteI loved Best Laid Plans. You really could hear her "voice" in it. Definitely a book I'll come back to read each year when I'm planning.
Okay, I've read two Lily King joints (Euphoria and Writers & Lovers) and basically hated them both. Would I like Heart the Lover?
ReplyDeleteI've taken Algospeak out at the library approximately six times and still haven't read it. Maybe I should try to get in in audio.
Don't worry, you didn't miss anything by jumping into the Linda Castillo books at #17. The only thing that you've lost is that if you ever read the first book you're going to know which work relationship turns into a romance. Other than that, she pretty much brings you up to speed with each book.

If I didn't love The Correspondent so much, Heart the Lover would also be my book of the year. But nothing could unseat The Correspondent. It's my swiss army book rec for anyone and everyone. And I love the origin story of the book.
ReplyDeleteI DNF'd The Poppy Fields. I loved The Measure but just couldn't get into The Poppy Fields. And I was incredibly annoyed that she had the characters meet on a layover in KC. THAT IS NOT A HUB, NO ONE WOULD CONNECT THROUGH KC.
I am so excited to read Heart the Lover with the way everyone is raving about it. And I'm especially excited that it's less than 200 pages!
