5 on a Friday: A life in 1-liners

 1. I am stalled out reading a book by my literal favorite author-- what is even happening?

2. Minnie and I both got bangs.

3. 5 kids plus 5 pairs of tennis shoes equals TOO MANY KIDS.

4. The big boys need their own space; the Fed raised interest rates, sooooo creative ideas welcome.

5. I have 3 days of meetings next week and am thrilled at the prospect of consistent adulting.

  1. Yay for adulting! I miss it, too <3

And love the bangs. My hair is a weird form of wavy and looks ridiculous in bangs, but I think they are the cutest thing!!! I envy everyone I see with bangs.

  2. Ahhh!! The bangs look so cute on you both! Bangs all around! Bangs for everyone!

I hate it when books by my favorite authors are disappointing. It feels like such a betrayal! But I suppose even the greats have duds.

  3. I always think of Jennifer Finney Boylan whenever Richard Russo comes up, because she always talks about what an amazing colleague, friend, and supporter he was when they were in the English dept at Colby...

Cute bangs on both of you! Very Fall forward!

Is your basement a possibility for H or J? Or would C and D want to room together for a year?

  4. Both your bangs are adorable, but it reminds me of when Eve was four and I took her for a haircut and they gave her bangs and she looked in the mirror and said, with consummate disgust, "oh great. Now I look like my mother".

  5. Eh, the boys can get space when they move out. LOL. I'm so harsh. It comes from always having a shared room, I think.

    Lovely bangs!

This is Lisa. Your bangs look great! The housing market is bananas. Mortgage rates are high and inventory is low since it’s not attractive to move and get a new mortgage at these high rates! If you can wait it out 1-2 years things should hopefully be better in terms of affordability!

Can you do anything with your garage? (Do you have a garage?) any option to make it into a bedroom/office/more usable space, either for the boys or to free up room elsewhere in the house?

  8. BANGS! I love them - on both you and Minnie!

I had bangs for so many years but grew them out during the pandemic. Every time I see pictures of myself in bangs, I miss them so much! But I just don't know if I want to put in the work again, lol. Bangs are high maintenance!

  9. As someone who has post-bang traumatic stress, I don't think I can ever go there again. But I love them on you and Minnie! I, too, thought of your garage for the big kids. Any way you can carve out a "teenage boy cave" for them somewhere? A shed in the backyard? LOL.
