I have 25 minutes each day with no children (while Minnie is at swim lessons and C and D are at summer league dive team practice). This morning, we were 2 minutes late, so that's 23 minutes. And then I spent 10 making a Target drive up order because the buy 3 get one free mini deal seemed perfect for restocking my pool toiletries. So. I have 13 minutes to work on this post.
Re-entry has SUCKED, friends.
We came home to a boiling hot, humid house because our 15 year-old AC (can you even believe this house is 15??) is broken. Soooo looks like the 20 year anniversary gift is actually an air conditioner. Neat.
I also only just now got caught up on laundry since Jack was also away for a week and does not pack light. And I am not even actually caught up, because I haven't changed sheets since before we left (except our beds, which I changed the day I got home) but I am loathe to run the dryer all day until the AC works again.
We are missing SO MANY POOL TOWELS that I think I am going to make everyone scan a wrist band to check one out in the morning.
Our summer schedule is intense. LOL. That's a polite description.
Cleveland became a Ben and Cooper flying trip because someone has to be home to welcome the new AC. Also, I am not leaving the house without ALL OF the children again because the mess? NOT WORTH IT YOU GUYS.
Swim lesson Minnie:
Scholar Minnie87 and humid. INDOORS.
I missed walking this dog. Also! my hotty hots fit again!!
I was told that OF COURSE this glass would make it upstairs to the dishwasher. Huh.
Dive meet spectator
Yay!
Yay!
Big brothering
Jack also competed and did awesome, but he is too cool for a pic. We got there at 4 and stayed until NINE because the kids were in 3 different groups. Woof! Minnie is a trooper, and the pool had a baby pool open the whole meet thank god. Literally. I was so grateful.
AAAAAACK!!! We've had the AC break in the summer, and it is HORRIBLE. I don't know how we got through it- I don't know how you're getting through it. How are you surviving? I hope it's fixed SOON.
ReplyDeleteUgh, we had a similar issue last year with the AC. We have a heat pump and it was faulty and never worked quite right. Then last year I was at a family reunion and Jake texted me to say the AC wasn't working - it was the August long weekend, so no way to get someone to come in. Long story short, we had to pay $25K to replace the entire system because ours was not only faulty, it was incorrectly installed IN 2022. So we got less than three year's worth out of it. Anyway, when I got home the house was 30 C and I had just spent a week with my parents and an entire day of delayed flights getting home, and I just wanted to lay down and die.
