Spring "break"

Oh, hi. It's my least favorite time of the second semester-- when none of us have spring break at the same time!. Ben has no spring break because he is a campus administrator. Harry had his break last week (he came home-- it was fun). Jack, Coop, Dorothy, and Minnie have their break this week, and I am on break next week. (When everyone else has work and school-- it will be a great week, TBH).

Dorothy had dance for 3 days last weekend. Cooper has dive for 3 days this coming weekend, so even if we tried to travel on the kids' break, we had THREE DAYS. **whomp whomp.** SO, I am just living vicariously through friends' vacay pictures and complaining about the weather.

Which! Has either been lovely

Or horrifying

Or! MUDDY AF!

Annabel got a haircut (LOL for days)
Whatever I planted in the fall (literally no clue-- bought a bunch of rando bulbs from Costco, and these are the ones the bunnies haven't eaten yet) is starting to bloom
Jack won another speech tournament, and we visited him so Ben could watch his final round (the girls and I went the other week). The school (Sun Prairie West) was so awesome that I truly feel like I am doing my kids a disservice by not living there. (But we are west siders, so...)

... aaaaaand that's it. Lots of jogs, dog walks, and scooter rides.

  1. It's too bad the breaks don't coincide! Your weather is so much like Calgary weather - I don't miss it to be honest.

  2. The main thing I got from this is, you will be on spring break next week WHILE EVERYONE ELSE HAS SCHOOL!!! What are your plans? I hope you get time to yourself to relax.

  3. I wish Spring Break were concentrated around a holiday, like Thanksgiving Break is, but of course that means Easter, which is religious, and not Passover, so I get it. BUT, rough in a family like yours where you now have different Spring Breaks. HOWEVER, I am thrilled for you to have a week to yourself. When I’m home alone (I mean aside from every day since I work from home) I always set up projects to do, decluttering a linen closet, etc. DO NOT DO THIS. Give yourself some real down time.

  5. This is so relatable, except - for the first time in forever we have no travel b-ball because Curly's a senior. We opted to take the two younger girls out of school and we are driving to Florida tomorrow. Woot woot. They will hate life when they get back and have lots of stuff to catch up on. Reg and Mini had off the week before St. Pat's. Rae had of St. Pat's week. This week no one has off, but Curly has a half day Friday. Curly and I are off next week. Then we get back and Kay has the following week off. On the positive side, I've had lots of help in daycare world. I cannot take time off during another kid's break, because then I don't get paid and that would make the trip even more $$$. Next year I'll be the only one with this break, since the girls are in private school. Hmm, where will I do - all by myself? Oh, Tank has no spring break but a few months ago talked about needing better weather, so he's joining us. Curly is thrilled to have one of the older kids along. ;)

I hope your weather is amazing when you're off.

  6. Why aren't all system schools on the same spring break? We have a dumb system!
