Harry took his baby sister trick or treating, so Ben and I could sit on the driveway with a big old Solo stove fire. We handed out 60 full-size candy bars, plus 40 shots of Fireball and 3 Costco-sized bags of candy. And a box of ring pops. BUSY NIGHT.
(Also all I ate the whole day was Butterfingers and Fireball (lots of both) and YIKES.)
(Also also we hosted seniors in HS, 8th graders and 7th graders the junior highers all over night. YIKES AGAIN).
Wait, you ONLY had fireball and butterfingers? I can imagine the hangover!
ReplyDeletewe went to costco at like 10 am for kid party supplies and one more bag of candy and I STARTED BUTTERIFNGERS THEN on an empty stomach and just kept eating them all day/night. I did have an apple around 3pm and a few bites of Minnie's costco pizza. Woof.

it's terrible/delicious. It definitely makes you feel warm, which is why it's been our trick or treat beverage for years
DeleteI love Fireball! It’s in our golf bags as “birdie juice”. (But the women I play with decided as we rarely get a birdie it could be par juice!). I have a sweet tooth and have the occasional binge but I would feel so sick if I only had that and butterfingers all day. Yikes!

I am speechless with admiration and also have a sympathetic headache. We had terrible weather but got as many trick or treaters as normal (not many, but enough that it's fun, and I gave giant handfuls of candy with gratifying results)

ReplyDeleteFollowing from NaBloPoMo and I just realized that you have teach Rhetoric! I only have my MA but I teach in CMST at a mid-sized State U. :) I love the houses that have driveway fires and hand out treats for the adults as well as the kids! I hope you were okay on Saturday. I think I would have passed out by 7 pm if all I had all day was Fireball and candy. :) Happy November!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great big brother. Love it. My stomach hurts just thinking about that. Your fire on the driveway sounds like a ton of fun. We were the opposite this year and I loved it. (went out and left the candy on the porch)
