Ben met us in Charleston yesterday, and it was SO NICE to relax and not worry about logistics.
Before he got there, Dorothy and I went downtown to sightsee and shop one last time, only we overestimated how much time we had before his flight landed and had to kind of hurry to the airport-- oops.SO HOT.
So much cool old stuff

BEST CHOCOLATES
Went to Hill House twice and couldn't quite pull the trigger on a nap dress. Should I though?
I swear my mom's old Barbie had this exact outfit.
We got dressed up ad went out for one more fun dinner before we had to head home. **chef's kiss**

We needed some Big Dad Energy in our lives-- like at Brandy Melville when Ben walked in while we were still shopping, saw that the line to check out was almost out the door, and joined it so that when Dorothy got done trying on, he'd be almost to the cash register.
Living the dad dream (lol) at Altar'd StateWe got dressed up ad went out for one more fun dinner before we had to head home. **chef's kiss**
It looks like these days were so fun! What special memories you made!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI looked at the nap dresses, and what distinguishes them from regular dresses? Cute though.
ReplyDeleteI love everyone's dinner attire. ON POINT.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I recently had an intense discussion about nap dress vs. peasant dress and what differentiates the two. I think you'd look fab in a nap dress! (Or a peasant dress.)
Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLove that Ben waited in line!!! That is genius and so sweet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an incredible trip full of fun experiences.
The family pictures really shine on this trip! Everyone looks so radiant!
ReplyDeleteI love how much one-on-one (or two-on-one when Ben came back!) with Dorothy. I'm sure this will be a core memory for her. <3
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely helps having another adult! But- I love the time you and Dorothy had together, just the two of you. So Ben is going to help you drive home? I absolutely cannot wait for the trip I'm going to take with my son in July, but I do get anxious about the driving part. I mean- I can do it, and I've done it before. And my son will drive too, but I still feel like I have to be the main adult. It's not driving on the highways, but navigating around cities that makes me anxious. WHAT IN THE WORLD did we do before GPS??? I can't even fathom how we managed it.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so dreamy. I'm trying to imagine Coach waiting in line while a teen and I shop/try things on . . . nope, can't imagine it. Would never happen. Ha. The fancy dinner out looks like a great time. How fun to have one kid to focus on. I'm sure she enjoyed it. Also, I don't think I could ever time it right to pick up a dad at the airport while shopping. There's never enough time to shop. Safe drive home!
